This detector is designed for robotic applications.

It implements a module receiver TSOP 1838 provided for applications IR transmission.

The oscillator-based NE555 keyed to 38KHz
allows, with an IR LED (or two, LD1, LD3), the continuum emission of an IR light beam.
In the presence of an obstacle, beam is reflected to the receiver module TSOP1838.
A red LED (LD2) materializes this state.
The detection distance of a few tens of centimeters.
It can be clearly increased if we place two IR LEDs in series instead of one.
Proximity switch Left / Right
LD1 and LD2 are visible LEDs, LD3 and LD4 are ledsIR.
The LED IR right and the right receiver are oriented to the right.
The left LED IR receiver and the left are oriented to the left.
The transmission is alternately on the left and on the right.
P1 and P2 serve to degrade the system, increasing the transmitted frequency to obtain a detection of a single sensor at a time.
