Overview
The project utilizes an Arduino to control the Puff as the Dragon fire fighter robot which scans flames using its head and blows out the flame.
Details
The design of the Puff consists of 2 light sensitive probes, 1 motor with propeller fan, 1 servo for head scanning, and 2 geared motors. It is equipped with cliff and obstacle detection since Puff is an Arduino based tracked autonomous robotic vehicle. The Panic mode switches in if it fails to blow out the fire within 2 sweeps and to save itself from being fried, he backs away from the fire. In Angry mode, it is also possible for it to breath out fire.
The motors are powered by the LM340TS 7805 voltage regulator without the need for any heatsink. Its head can be turned 60-120 degrees and more than this would cause the head to fall. The positioning of the Sharp IR Sensor is for Cliff Detection which can be angled downwards to focus on the floor 100mm away and for Obstacle Detection which also works in the forward direction to detect objects. The Pyro System uses glass tube to breath out fire.
